Employee Forms and Orientation

Thank you for your interest in joining the team at The Pumpkin Patch!  Whether you're planning to intern with us, work part-time, or take on the role of teaching enrichment classes, we are excited to have the opportunity to work with you.  On this page you'll find the step-by-step processes you'll need to complete in order to apply for this position.  If hired, you will receive a contract with a salary or stipend offer and a schedule of shifts/ hours you plan to work.  *Please note: within each section all resources are linked so you can easily access them.

You will need to complete this form (leave the "position held" portion blank)and upload it as an attachment using upload below.

Step Two: Complete the
Record Check Authorization Form

Step Three: Fingerprint Authorization Certificate

Once the authorization form has been processed, you will receive an email with your Fingerprint Authorization Certificate attached to it.  You will need to print this form and bring it with you to your fingerprinting appointment.

Step Four: Make a fingerprinting appointment

Use the online schedule service to schedule your fingerprinting.  You will need to bring your certificate and two pieces of identification (refer to acceptable types listed on your certificate). At your appointment, you will let the attendant know to bill the fingerprinting fee to The Pumpkin Patch.

Step One: Schedule an Interview

Once we've received your information, we will contact you to schedule an interview.  If for any reason we decide not to move forward with the hiring process, you will be notified via email.


Work Agreement

If hired, you will receive a work agreement offer outlining your title, roles/ responsibilities, and compensation, along with hours and dates of work. The salary scale is determined based on years of experience and qualifications.

Credentials & Transcripts

If you are hired for a position requiring credentials, you'll need to fill out the Northern Lights @ CCV cover sheet, and have your official transcripts/ credentials and certificates sent to professional.development@ccv.edu.

First Aid & CPR Training

 Attend training provided by the program during staff orientation, or attend a class offered by the red cross and apply for reimbursement.  If you hold a current/ valid CPR and First Aid certificate, please scan and email them to putneyplace@gmail.com.  

What's an IPDP?

As part of your professional development, you will need to create an Independent Professional Development Plan.  To do so, use the following documents to self-assess and then set goals.  This slideshow can help walk you through the process.  You can also check out our staff training with Amelia Struthers to help guide you in this process.

Professional Development

All professional development related to your childcare license can be accessed through Northern Lights at Community College of Vermont and most of the courses/ opportunities are offered free of charge.  To sign up for a class, select a class from the website and it will direct you to the CCV registration page.  For direct links to the courses you need, see the salary scale with list of credential requirements.

Online Orientation Training

Complete the approved childcare orientation training online.  This 9 hour course is required; you cannot skip videos or sections.  You will be for your certificate fee ($20) when you are reimbursed for your fingerprinting.  To locate the class once you've registered with On Demand, simply type "Vermont Orientation Training" in the search bar.

Submitting Documents 

Protecting your data is important to us, and we encourage you to use a secure file transfer to send us your documents. If you follow the steps below, you can use a service called ZendTo to send your documents securely to Northern Lights. 

1. Visit https://zendto.vsc.edu/ and select “Drop-off”

2.  On the next page, enter your name and email address and ZendTo will send you an email to confirm your identity

3.   In their confirmation email, you’ll find a ZendTo link – click the link and it will open a ZendTo portal you can use to securely send us your documents.
